FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Oxford, AL – June 03, 2026 – Oxford Health Systems, through direct support from the City of Oxford, is introducing a new AED community placement program to equip the community with resources that will increase positive outcomes in emergencies.
Through this program, 21 AEDs previously used in city buildings are available for donation to nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups, and community organizations located in Oxford.
As part of its broader responsibilities, Oxford Paramedics, the EMS service line of Oxford Health Systems, already manages and maintains AEDs in public and municipal facilities, ensuring they remain ready for use. Now, we can place more AEDs throughout the community, extending the lifesaving capability farther into our city.
The use of an AED can be the most important intervention when someone suffers cardiac arrest. The citizen who recognizes the emergency, calls 911, starts CPR, or uses an AED is often the most important link in the chain of survival.
Oxford Paramedics focuses on providing exceptional patient care to the people of Oxford. Our community-focused care model recognizes that every bystander acts as a “first link” in the chain of survival when someone suffers a significant medical illness or traumatic injury. Our commitment to providing the highest-quality care possible to Oxford drives our efforts to equip our citizens with the education and tools needed to act when it matters most.
By prioritizing public education and engagement, Oxford Paramedics seeks to set the standard for community-based healthcare. To apply for this program, organizations are encouraged to use the link below.
